　　1989年，WPS作为中国第一款中文字处理软件研发完成，经过三年发展，迅速占领中国办公软件的大部分市场份额。在其后几代版本跨越发展中，WPS成为国内最成功的办公软件产品之一，并在2000年获得国家科技进步二等奖。2005年9月，历时三年打造的WPS Office 2005全新发布，获得863专家组A级产品评价。在2006年3月份《电脑报》最新调查中，WPS Office以市场20.22%份额继续成为国内市场占有份额最高的国产办公软件产品。2006年，WPS Office吹响进军海外的号角。9月，WPS日文版(Kingsoft Office 2007)在日本东京发布。

With a very strong brand recognition in China, WPS Office has been undoubtedly one of the most successful domestic software products. It received second place in “China’s Technology Progress Award” in 2000.After three years of Research and Development, Kingsoft released WPS Office 2005 in September 2005 which was entirely rebuilt on a new code-base, and was enlisted into the “Hi-Tech Research and Development Program of China”. In March 2006, according to the latest survey reported by Computer Magazine, WPS office has became the best seller in domestic office software with a market share of 20.22%. Kingsoft WPS Division is aggressively expanding overseas. The English and Japanese versions of WPS Office are currently available in the market.
